Each activity within the community is carefully located and each stage of development carefully planned to create high quality housing, shopping, business, and recreational opportunities.
Schools
The public school systems in the tri-state are consistently ranked among the top in the nation. Children living in Dakota Dunes are part of the Dakota Valley School District. They may also be enrolled in private schools located throughout the area.
Churches
Two churches are located at Dakota Dunes. The Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church is at 149 Bison Trail (605/232-9117), next to The Prairie neighborhood. Preschool and after school care programs are available.
The Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Parish is located at 995 Sioux Point Road (605/235-1942). Daily and weekend masses, along with mid-week pre classes, are available.
Several other places of worship are available within minutes of Dakota Dunes.
Community Association
The Community Association is in place to ensure the integrity of Dakota Dunes for its community members. Residents may take an active participant role by serving on the board or any committee.
Siouxland Friends and Neighbors
Siouxland Friends and Neighbors is group of women who gather for monthly coffee get-togethers, volunteer activities and special interest groups--from cards and dinners to scrapbooking and crafts.
Recreation
In addition to social groups, there are establishments in Dakota Dunes for family entertainment. Dakota Dunes Country Club offers championship golf, tennis, swimming, fitness and children's programs. The Country Club also has member dining featuring the finest food in the area. Two Rivers Golf Club and its staff have created leagues and programs to fit a golfer of every age. There are also two parks in Dakota Dunes so that children may enjoy basketball games, baseball and family picnics, to name a few activities.
Security
Dakota Dunes is a very safe community because of the on-site security program. In addition, police, fire and ambulance services are offered by Union County Sherriff's Department and the Dakota Valley fire district. |
